Madame Butterfly

last friday my dearest lillian cancado invited me to the ballet, madame butterfly, with her, ricky and their uncle who lives in salt lake. oh my lands, it was the absolute most stunning performance that i have ever witnessed in my entire life!
first of all, the ballet was performed in the gorgeous gorgeous salt lake capitol theatre which is dripping with crystal chandeliers, victorian furniture, and gaudy, intricate raised ceilings. this place set the scene so perfectly for the beautiful ballet that took place.
that ballet tells a tragic love story set in japan during the war. i won't go into the whole story-line plot but the costumes and the dances were simply inspirational and touching!
i cannot even describe how amazing this ballet was! lillian and i just kept looking at each other with total shock on our faces- it was THAT good! if any of you happen to hear that a ballet company around you is doing this performance, i suggest you go go go! you will not be disappointed!
